Trixie the Border Collie
I had little doggie once
she easily stole my heart
sixteen years of loyalty
Her death tore me apart
Followed us to the beach
Sleeping always by my bed
Camping in the swamp
Obeying everything said
A beautiful border collie
A kind and loving nature
A real people person no
She could never hate cha
She saw my first cigarette
Was there at my first kiss
Came with me waging school
There’s not much she missed
She was my best friend
I loved her like a brother
She used to lick my wounds
And loved me like a mother
I’ve only had two other dogs
By then I was full grown
Trixi was my first love
The best dog I’ve ever known
